Multicultural Mass 2016: Another Joyous Occasion

We had another memorable Multicultural Mass on Migrant and Refugee Sunday (28 August) at the Cathedral of St Stephen, Brisbane.

Archbishop Mark Coleridge was the main celebrant for the fourth year running. Preparation for this Mass takes up to 6 months. It was a feat to fit 12 choirs in the Cathedral which eventually accommodated a standing room only of up to 1,500 attendees with approximately 35 countries represented.

We thank His Grace, Archbishop Mark Coleridge for his presence and leadership, and the migrant chaplains, ethnic ministers and leaders who mobilised their respective communities to be involved in the various aspects of this annual celebration – from liturgy through to food contribution/ distribution and entertainment.

This year's celebration joyfully ended with everyone dancing to ‘The Macarena’.

It was a beautiful day. We thank everyone for coming.
